Rio's History

Rio is a 2 year old Long Hair, Chocolate and Tan, Dappled Dachshund. I got Rio through a Dachshund rescue site in Florida. He wasn't a straight rescue, he was an owner relinquishment. A nice family in Jacksonville had just had a change in circumstance and couldn't keep him anymore. They actually had 4 Dachshunds all together but the other 3 were older and required less attention. He seemed very well cared for even if he was a little skinny. He was crate trained but not completely house trained which we are still working on!

This blog is about my Long Hair, Dapple Dachshund Rio and Dachshunds as a whole. For people who own Dachshunds (or who are owned by them!) we know what wonderful and unique companions they can be and we like to share that. Maybe if someone is considering a a Dachshund, they might get some insight from this blog. And maybe some other people might just get a good chuckle. I hope you enjoy it.
